Shellfish Farm Proposal for USFW Dungeness Wildlife Refuge Area
This industrial farming project would be inside the USFW Dungeness Wildlife Refuge (Dungeness Spit) area, across the waters at 3 Crabs Rd. The Jamestown Tribe is “leasing” 50 acres, 731 ft. wide x 2977 ft long.
Public hearing before the Hearings Examiner: April 5 at 1 PM in the County Commissioners Meeting Room.
This CAFO sized farm will decimate the area and threaten refuge animals, as it is right across from the USFW Refuge.
It is very disappointing to have to revisit this, after they were stopped last year. It is also disappointing this vital info was only published one time, in print and on line, on Sunday, Feb. 18, 2018. Seems this is to be publicly hidden as best as possible.
