State Approves “Steelhead”/Rainbow Trout Pens

Washington Department of Fish & Wildlife (WDFW) has approved permits for Cooke Aquaculture to raise biologically modified “Steelhead”/Rainbow Trout in state marine waters. This foreign corporation has a history of negligence and lying to state agencies, as well as the public, in pursuing a polluting industry.

PPF opposes this decision by WDFW. Wild Fish Conservancy has begun a petition to urge WDFW to conduct a comprehensive Environmental Impact Statement (EIS) of this dangerous new proposal. The petition can be found here: https://www.oursound-oursalmon.org/cooke-sepa-petition
